It's hard to believe that it's fall already, especially here in Los Angeles where it's like 95 degrees out today. A good day to hide out, I think...and rest up for tomorrow's wedding at Cicada. So since I'm spending some time on the couch I thought it might be a good day to start thinking about this year's holiday mini-sessions. I don't have a date set just yet for this year's sessions. Last year I photographed 23 families over the course of 4 days and practically killed myself in the process. Well maybe I'm being just a little bit dramatic but I was pretty exhausted. So this year I plan to limit my holiday sessions to no more than 10 families, just for my own sanity. After spending a week in Haiti and then flying directly to Vegas for this year's WPPI convention & trade show, I have about a million things on my mind and many things to blog about. Haiti was a truly life-changing experience and I look forward to sharing images and stories when I am ready. For now I'm still mentally and emotionally processing everything that I've been through. So I figured I'd jump back in with something easy and just share some exciting news.
With some 3000 prints submitted for this year's print competition, I was thrilled to be awarded 3rd place in the Bride & Groom Together category for this image of Emily and Andrew. Yay! It was beautifully printed by master printmaker, Jonathan Penney.
