Palm Springs is one of my absolute favorite places on the planet to photograph a wedding. A mini city in the middle of the dessert, it is just the visual aesthetic that I love, mid-century modern everything...does it get any better than that?! I also love the kinds of weddings that happen here....the kind where stylish simplicity meets glamour. The perfect blend of intimacy and a real party...not too big, not to small. Eliza & Justin's gorgeous bash was no exception. After getting ready at The Parker the ceremony and reception were held at Villa Carmelita, famous for being the lovenest of Sonny & Cher. And I got to work with a truly incredible team: Wedding Coordinator: Celebrations of Joy Catering: Jennifer's Fine Foods Rentals: Signature Party Rentals Makeup: Ten Eleven Makeup

It's rare that you get to bond with a couple in the very special way that I bonded with Nicole & Mike over the course of just a couple of days together. And I'll get into that in more detail in some other blog post when I can pull my thoughts together enough to be articulate. This wedding was very special in so many ways. And I got so much love and hugs from Nicole & Mike's parents over the course of this weekend that I thought my heart just might melt or explode, I wasn't sure which. But this particular wedding was just so full of raw emotion that I decided to show the entire highlights slideshow in black & white. Just to cut right through everything else to what was really going on, the good stuff, the stuff that matters in life. The people, their relationships with one
I met Laura & James on a Thursday, the day of their intimate yet exquisitely stylish wedding and it was love at first sight/ sound...for me. Not only did they turn out to be a stunning couple, but I also learned that they both have the most adorable british accents...and don't ask me why but I love English people. Perhaps it reminds me of my own English heritage...or perhaps it's the dark, self-deprecating sense of humor but I am this close to wallpapering my house with the Union Jack. But I digress. Not only are Laura and James cute and funny but they are kind-hearted and so deeply in love...with one another and with their families. It was such a pleasure to spend the day with them at The Parker in Palm Springs. I was equally delighted to spend the day with their fabulous coodinator, Fancy Nancy and wedding
I never miss an opportunity to go to Palm Springs, it is one of my absolute favorite places to visit and I LOVE shooting weddings there. Lauren & Chris came to me by way of Jay & Mike who were married on New Year's Eve at The Parker. I didn't meet Lauren & Chris until the day of their wedding at The Colony Palms Hotel but they were just as delightful as I could have imagined. They rented out the entire hotel for a weekend with family and friends and I was so happy to be a part of it. Kristeen Labrot did an exquisite job coordinating the event and I was blown away by the stylish and unique floral designs by Marla Hudnall. I learned that if you try hard enough you can fit 9 cute girls in one adorable clawfoot tub. After their first look I took Lauren & Chris out
On New Year's Day as my husband, Gary and our two dogs were attempting to unpack boxes at our new home, my mother Diana and I were traipsing through the desert with Jay and Mike for the couple's day-after session in Palm Springs. Now there are certain wedding venues (like The Parker) that you just can't explore fully on the wedding day itself because there is just not enough time...and most brides don't really want to get their gowns dirty before they have even taken a walk down the aisle, I get it. But every now and then I need the chance to explore some fun locations without the fear of getting anyone wrinkled or dirty or late. So we started at The Parker, visited The Ace Hotel and then ended at the wind farm near the interstate.
