My mother is in town visiting this week so after dragging her to a couple of wild (actually one rather sedate, one wild) Hollywood parties last night, we spent the afternoon prepping for The Modern Portrait workshop which we teach together. It's going to be held at the new loft studio I just got with my good friend Ellen Petty from Identity Kitchen. I'll post some pictures of the space soon as it starts to come together. As promised though, here is the next engagement session on the list. Carin and Perry are a wonderful couple who found me despite the lack of any actual wedding marketing efforts out here in LA. But I was so glad that they found me because we are very much on the same page and their wedding is to take place at a venue that I have been eyeing for a couple of years now,

Lorinda and Kawika are an adorable couple from Hawaii who happened to meet one another in DC of all places. They are planning what is going to be a beautiful wedding in Hawaii this October and somehow managed to find me for some engagement portraits in the DC area. This one was shot during the cherry blossom festival a few weeks ago.

Amy & George – Engagement Session
Since my last trip to DC coincided with the cherry blossom festival on the mall, you're going to see an awful lot of cherry blossoms in these next few blog posts. :) But what a gorgeous time to be in the city and to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. I had the pleasure to meet Amy and George for the first time the day of their engagement session about 2 weeks ago. One of the challenges of living in Los Angeles and commuting to DC is that I often don't get to meet in person with wedding clients until the engagement session and sometimes even on the wedding day itself. But Amy and George were just as delightful as I knew they would be and now I am twice as excited to shoot their wedding coming up in June. I learned that Amy and George are both about to finish

Jo & Rob’s E Session
Okay, now the last of the recent engagement sessions I shot on my last trip to DC. And just in time for me to head back on Wednesday to shoot a couple of weddings. Today I bring you Jo & Rob who I also met for the first time on the day of their engagement session which we shot in Old Town Alexandria. Jo & Rob came to me by way of the always amazing Sara Muchnick. Anyway, these two are an incredibly sweet and giggly couple and have the some of the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. Their wedding will be the first I'll shoot as a married woman...wow! :)

Molley & Tim’s E-session
I know I'm totally behind on this blog but I really am making an effort to catch up. So, tonight I bring you the 2nd of the 3 engagement sessions I shot during my last trip to DC. When I first met with Molley I would have fought other photographers to "get her" but luckily I didn't have to. :) I met Tim on the day of our session and he is just as fun and adorable as she is. We shot at the Lincoln Memorial which is one of my favorite spots in DC. Enjoy!
