It's Labor Day weekend which means almost complete insanity for every wedding photographer in the country. Even as I write this my mother, Diana Adams and my awesome associate Jenni Green are photographing a wedding in Baltimore together. Jenni is shooting another wedding in DC tomorrow.
I only have one wedding this weekend, phew. :) Seeing as how it's down in San Diego which is a little bit of a drive from LA, I decided to head down this afternoon so that I will be nice and fresh for tomorrow. And that means packing extra carefully because I can't exactly head home if I've forgotten something. So I just laid everything out on the floor of my prep room...that is what I'm naming the room in our house which we have opted to leave empty so that I have room to spread out all of my gear to pack, charge batteries

After spending a week in Haiti and then flying directly to Vegas for this year's WPPI convention & trade show, I have about a million things on my mind and many things to blog about. Haiti was a truly life-changing experience and I look forward to sharing images and stories when I am ready. For now I'm still mentally and emotionally processing everything that I've been through. So I figured I'd jump back in with something easy and just share some exciting news.
With some 3000 prints submitted for this year's print competition, I was thrilled to be awarded 3rd place in the Bride & Groom Together category for this image of Emily and Andrew. Yay! It was beautifully printed by master printmaker, Jonathan Penney.
Although I attended few classes this year, I enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces, catching up with old friends and making some new ones. I very much

Happy Holidays to me! It's been a long time since I've had a decent point-and-shoot camera...I mean a loooong time. I do have a half-broken 3 MP digital elph lying around somewhere but the image quality was always so lousy that I couldn't even bare to have anything printed...and isn't it sad to not have any pictures of the fun things you do in your life? And since I'm not one of those photographers who likes to lug around a big SLR & lenses everywhere I go, I decided it was finally time to get myself a new point-and-shoot. For those of you who don't know me, I got married last October. Of course my wedding was 10 months ago now but I just love weddings so much that I can't help but totally immerse myself in them and for that reason I read lots of wedding blogs. I even write one called The Unbride which is due for a relaunch any day now.
