Some of you may remember Erin's lovely younger sister Caroline from the blog a few months ago...senior portraits, ring a bell? Well there are few things I love more than working with the same families over and over again. I really feel as though I start to become a part of their family, their memories, their history. I become their historian of sorts, capturing all of the most important life events. Well Erin and Austin were engaged a few months ago and although their wedding won't happen for a few years (until after Austin finishes vet school), I was so thrilled when they asked me to do an engagement session with them while they were in town for the holidays. And what can I say, what a beautiful, sweet, lovely couple. We shot all over and around The Adamson House in Malibu.

I knew from the first email I ever received from Jay that I would have to shoot her wedding. She was just so enthusiastic about photography and was so full of ideas, I knew we were meant for each other. :) One of my favorites ideas she had was to take inspiration from one of their favorite movies, 500 Days of Summer, for their engagement session. So a couple of days before our scheduled session, I re-watched the movie and Jay sent me a map of all of the various downtown LA locations where they shot it. Some locations we just couldn't get to but I think we nailed the most important one...the one that resonated in my mind most of all...the now very famous bench. Now if you haven't seen the movie, it has a very strong architectural theme so I wanted to incorporate the city of downtown Los Angeles

Well after a ton of traveling and a ton of shooting this summer, I have tons and tons of images to blog. So first thing first. Sarika and Prabhu were one of those couples that I just adored right from the start. Lucky for me that I get to spend two wedding days with them. One wedding in San Diego where Sarika is from and another wedding celebration in Washington DC 2 weeks later where they live. It's going to be gorgeous and I was so thrilled to be able to get these two in front of my camera for their engagement session a few weeks ago. We started out behind shooting behind Sarika's parents house with Sarika in this gorgeous eggplant-colored sari which she brought back from a recent trip to India and then headed off to La Jolla for a little variety. Thanks so much for being so much fun to

Abby and Zack came to me by way of the always delightful Amy Guthridge from Engaging Affairs. Now I got to chat on the phone with Abby and Zack but never met them until the day of their engagement session. But Abby sent me some pictures of the new craftsman-style home which they had just bought and suggested that they might like to do their engagement session at their house. And my brain started working. I thought wouldn't it be fun to shoot a sort of "Sunday morning at home" sort of editorial-style engagement session. Maybe even a little retro throwback. It all started to come together when I arrived on a Friday afternoon (not a Sunday morning) and we picked out some clothes and just played for a couple of hours. I loved how we were to use various parts of their home to make it really personalized while
