The morning after Megan & Jon’s wedding at Congressional Country Club, I was up again bright and early to go and join Lisa & Steve for their wedding at The Fairmont in Washington DC. There’s just something about weddings that gives us the energy to shoot back-to-back events…perhaps feeding off the excitement and happiness of our clients. I’m not sure exactly but I think there are few things in life that leave me as exhausted and and exhilarated at the same time.

Now Lisa manages Mervis Diamonds in Tysons Corner so she was no stranger to weddings…AND she was dripping in diamonds for her big day. Not a bad perk, right? Jenni and I drooled over the jewelry. I also had to drool over all of the lovely pink flowers by the always exquisite Petal’s Edge.

Steve had a big surprise up his sleeve. A well-known fact to their guests (but not to me), but Steve had quite a lot of experience doing Elvis impersonations and owned an array of REALLY authentic looking jumpsuits etc. So towards the end of the reception, he ducked out briefly only to return in full Elvis garb and proceeded to serenade Lisa to “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Lisa’s reaction was priceless!
