When I first heard from Morgan about her wedding plans, she wrote me one of the most excited and enthusiastic emails I had ever received from a bride-to-be and I immediately knew we would be a great fit. So...during one of my most recent trips back to DC, I hopped on a plane to Boston so that I could shoot Morgan & Jordan's engagement session in and around their neighborhood. And wouldn't you know it, just seconds before this sweet couple walked over to me, the skies opened up and it started raining on us. But on a positive note, running for cover forced us to find some great indoor locations in a hurry, locations recommended to me by my awesome friend (and local Boston photographer) Connie Miller. Morgan & Jordan, SO excited for your big day at Congressional Country Club...soon! :)

The morning after Megan & Jon's wedding at Congressional Country Club, I was up again bright and early to go and join Lisa & Steve for their wedding at The Fairmont in Washington DC. There's just something about weddings that gives us the energy to shoot back-to-back events...perhaps feeding off the excitement and happiness of our clients. I'm not sure exactly but I think there are few things in life that leave me as exhausted and and exhilarated at the same time. Now Lisa manages Mervis Diamonds in Tysons Corner so she was no stranger to weddings...AND she was dripping in diamonds for her big day. Not a bad perk, right? Jenni and I drooled over the jewelry. Gary & I have really taken to going to Palm Springs on little mini road trips. The most recent one a couple of weeks ago took us to The Ace Hotel, one of our favorite Palm Springs places. I'm also kind of dying to shoot a wedding there. But in the meantime I did bring a vintage Rollei with me on this trip and did a little bit of shooting just for fun. For some reason I have to shoot medium format film for travel photos. It slows me down, makes me work a little harder for the images, makes me shoot slower...which I think is a good thing. Here are a couple of images from the most recent trip.
Well it has been quite a busy past month for me...including 6 airplane rides, 2 road trips, 6 weddings, 2 engagement sessions, attending a wedding as a guest and all sorts of socializing in between. But I am determined to share it all here on the blog...piece by piece. Right before I left for this most recent trip I watched Planes, Trains & Automobiles and I thought to myself, wow that's kind of like my life during wedding season...minus the John Candy character. But I am happy to be home for at least a good 3 weeks before I head to New England for a very special wedding that I am super excited about. Anyway, first thing's first...the fabulously gorgeous wedding of Megan and Jon. Seriously, such a lovely couple, beautiful families, a great time all around. And a little rain didn't spoil any of the fun I got to
