Exciting news everyone! This has all come together over the course of just a few hours really but I was excited and thrilled when Walter Van Dusen, an awesome wedding photographer and the host of the Mystic Seminars asked me to speak at Mystic 6 which is to be held...where else? Mystic, Connecticut on January 6-9, 2011. And what a lineup he has! I'm both flattered and humbled to appear amongst such greats as Cliff Mautner, Michael Greenberg, Yervant, Jesh De Rox, Angela Carlson, John Edgar, Sean & Mel McLellan, Sergio, Richard Esposito, Chuck Arlund, Doug Gordon, David Beckstead, Andrew Funderberg, Matt Mendelsohn, Todd Laffler, Davina & Daniel, Joseph Victor Stefanchik and of course Walter Van Dusen himself. I will be talking about creating a consistent shooting style that is both modern and classic, but inclusive of the traditional aspects of photography that your clients want. How to interact with your

Clients, you all know that Pictage is my lab of choice for posting your wedding images. It is the first place you see all of the images from your wedding. These are also the fine people who print and deliver the images you decide to order in print form. They allow me the freedom to concentrate on things like shooting your weddings, designing your albums, answering your emails, working on your slideshows and all of the other millions of things I have to do (but love to do) as a photographer and business owner. Photographers, some of you may have had some ups and downs with Pictage over the years, I have as well. But I can't tell you how incredibly thrilled I have been ever since they were taken over by new management about a year and a half ago. Since then Jim, Simon, Kevin, Danny, Nitin & Jen have

In a few minutes I will be heading out to photograph part 2 of Sarika & Prabhu's indian wedding extravaganza. I shot the wedding ceremony and reception in San Diego 2 weeks ago and today they are celebrating with all of their Washington DC friends and family and I am lucky enough to be there for both. So before I run out the door, I thought it might be fun to post a couple of previews. Hope you enjoy! At the beginning of the ceremony, Prabhu had a silk scarf held in front of his face so that he couldn't see Sarika until the very last moment. When the scarf was dropped, they were both supposed to "toss" rice on one another. These two decided to literally pelt one-another. We are lucky no one lost an eye but it made for a funny picture, I think. Can't wait for more fun and

I can't even tell you how excited I was to return to shoot a wedding at Halcyon House, the very place where I myself was married almost 2 years ago. Halcyon House is one of Washington DC's most unique wedding venues which is probably why it tends to be a popular venue amongst DC wedding industry insiders...for instance, the very lovely Kate of Occasions Caterers. Kate and I had worked together here and there but didn't really know each other so I was both flattered and excited when she asked me to photograph her wedding. For me, there is just no greater compliment. When I found out that her love Simo was Moroccan, well that was just the icing on the cake for me considering that my mother grew up in Morocco and having spent time there, it's a very special place to me. And my oh my, these two

In March of this year I attended the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) Convention in Las Vegas for the 8th year in a row. Every year I get to hang with some of the best photographers in the world, take classes, go to lots of parties, get some inspiration and of course attend the trade show to visit all of the companies who help me to produce incredible products for my clients. I discovered Queensberry albums way back in 2003, my first year at WPPI and have been using them ever since. Queensberry is based in New Zealand and their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship of their albums is always notable. However, in 2010 they really managed to outdo themselves when they unveiled a brand new line of albums which they call Musee. I was absolutely blown away by how exquisite these albums are, they are sort of
