As promised, today I am back with part 2 of Kristen & Jon Paul's amazingly gorgeous retro wedding at The Parker Palm Springs. A few things I forgot to mention in the last post...the invitations and programs and all of the gorgeous paper aspects of this wedding were designed personally by Kristen's sister Laura. Laura writes for an incredible design blog called Orange Beautiful and was kind enough to recently feature some of my images from Haiti...which I have yet to even do myself. But I will, I promise. Also, my mother Diana and my sister Lauren flew out to visit from DC and came along to shoot this wedding with me so it was a family affair all around. Having my family around me while trying to blend into another family on an important day for them was a wonderful experience, so thank you ladies for sharing your talents with

Yes, I have been quite the busy little bee lately and as a result, I have been a very bad blogger...for quite some time now. So today I am very excited to bring you a wedding that I photographed over a month of my favorite weddings of all time, in fact. Kristen and Jon Paul were the most delightful and adorable couple to work with. We actually never met until the wedding day itself. They live in Atlanta, I live in LA, and they married in Palm Springs. It's always great to get to know your clients ahead of time but after this many years in the business, I have a pretty keen sense from the first email if a potential client and I will love each other...and I knew right from the start that I had to work with these two. After spending a week in Haiti and then flying directly to Vegas for this year's WPPI convention & trade show, I have about a million things on my mind and many things to blog about. Haiti was a truly life-changing experience and I look forward to sharing images and stories when I am ready. For now I'm still mentally and emotionally processing everything that I've been through. So I figured I'd jump back in with something easy and just share some exciting news. With some 3000 prints submitted for this year's print competition, I was thrilled to be awarded 3rd place in the Bride & Groom Together category for this image of Emily and Andrew. Yay! It was beautifully printed by master printmaker, Jonathan Penney.
