When another photographer asks you to photograph their family, it is both incredibly flattering and somewhat terrifying all at the same time. I experienced these emotions several weeks back when Jerry Frazier, who is a photographer friend asked me to shoot a session of him with his gorgeous children Jemma and Andrew. Since I already had plans to go to the OC Fair to see Tears For Fears the day that was convenient for them, I suggested that maybe that might be a good location to do the shoot. It was definitely a “busy” location for a shoot, full of badly dressed tourists, harsh lighting and signs announcing horrifying foods like chocolate covered fried bacon but sometimes it’s fun to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. And I’m glad we did because we managed to grab some images that cover all of the emotions one experiences with children at a county fair…from utter delight and laughter, to poutyness, sibling rivalry and total exhaustion. Here are a handful of my faves…

Thank you Jerry, Jemma and Andrew for hanging out with me for the afternoon!

Adorable shots of the kiddos jumping off of the bench. They’re all adorable, actually. ;-)

And chocolate covered bacon isn’t as horrifying as you think. It’s rather tasty, actually–two superfoods coming together to make one indisputable supersnack!
