What a trip to DC this has been! I have 2 weddings anxiously waiting to be blogged, but tonight I bring you the 4th and final engagement session of the week. I actually just met Cynthia and Ross for the first time tonight so it was a get-to-know-eachother/ engagement session. We met at the new house they just bought in the beautiful Glover Park neighborhood of DC. The house is undergoing some renovations right now but it suprisingly made for some pretty cool backgrounds for some of the portraits. Their adorable dog Scamp participated in a few and then Cynthia, Ross and I just bummed around the neighborhood for a while. A big thank you to Sara Muchnick from Engaging Affairs for bringing us together. Cynthia & Ross, thank you for being great sports about my silly ideas and I'm so looking forward to your wedding! As a fellow Mini owner, I

Today I bring to you the 3rd engagement session I've shot in the past 4 days...yes I've been a busy little bee. But that's what happens when you travel coast to coast, if anything it keeps me on my toes. :) I actually met Andrew on my own wedding day when he arrived along with Mike Eller from Monachetti, our now legendary wedding videographers. I actually never met either of them until our wedding day so all of you brides out there, don't feel bad if you can't always have an in-person meeting with your vendors. It's great if you can but it's just not always possible so trust your instincts and do whatever is comfortable for you. After my wedding and after the months that passed, my husband Gary and I got to hang out with Andrew a few times in LA. Over a particularly memorable evening of margaritas & mexican

A few months ago my friend & neighbor Greg Behrendt approached me about doing a photo shoot with his band, The Reigning Monarchs, a super cool (all instrumental) surf-rock band. Well considering that my own brother Michael heads up the band with Greg and I totally love their music, how could I say no? So we scheduled it and then it was off to find the perfect location. Once Greg showed me this amazing vintage sofa he found on the side of the road, that settled it...we just had to shoot at the legendary Vogue Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. It just seemed like the perfect combination of tattered dilapidation with a richness of color and lingering air of old hollywood sophistication. And as luck would have it, Gary's good friend Abdi has held the lease on the place for the past couple of years with plans to eventually turn it

It must be yellow dress week because after Natalie's gorgeous mustard-colored silk number yesterday, I was thrilled to show up at Glen Echo Park this evening to see Liz in her own adorable flirty little yellow dress. I met Liz & Chris for the very first time today when we met for their engagement session. I have photographed the weddings of 2 of Liz's friends from law school but we've had a strictly email relationship until today. So I was so happy to get to know these two a little bit and realize that they are just as fun and bubbly and adorable as they seemed online. One thing that they had requested was that we do "a jumping picture" since that's sort of their thing...jumping pictures on vacation, when they visit new places, pretty much wherever. Of course I was happy to oblige and boy are they excellent jumpers
