Today I bring to you the 3rd engagement session I’ve shot in the past 4 days…yes I’ve been a busy little bee. But that’s what happens when you travel coast to coast, if anything it keeps me on my toes.
I actually met Andrew on my own wedding day when he arrived along with Mike Eller from Monachetti, our now legendary wedding videographers. I actually never met either of them until our wedding day so all of you brides out there, don’t feel bad if you can’t always have an in-person meeting with your vendors. It’s great if you can but it’s just not always possible so trust your instincts and do whatever is comfortable for you.
After my wedding and after the months that passed, my husband Gary and I got to hang out with Andrew a few times in LA. Over a particularly memorable evening of margaritas & mexican food at Mexico City, Andrew confessed to us that he was ready to propose to his long-time love, Emily. We got so excited and wanted to help. He said that he already had the diamond but needed to have it set into the perfect engagement ring. So Gary and I being the helpful (nosy) people we are decided that we absolutely must take Andrew over to our favorite jeweler KFK where Gary had commissioned my own engagement ring and where we purchased our wedding bands & my wedding earrings. So the next week I picked up Andrew and we met Gary over at the jewelers where we helped Andrew to pick out the perfect antique ring for Emily. And the rest is history.
But it didn’t end there. A couple of months after the engagement commenced, Andrew emailed me and asked me if I would shoot the wedding. Of course I was flattered and thrilled and am so looking forward to their big day coming up in September. But this trip was all about the engagement session. Since Glen Echo Park is my new favorite location, I knew we had to go back…and we did last night, and finished just before the rain hit…or at least before major downpour started. A big thank you to my amazing associate photographer Jenni for coming along to shoot with me and help out.
A special thank you to Nicole for giving me the giant balloons and to Shoppers Food Warehouse for filling them with helium for me for $0.98 each.

Since the back and left sides of the train belong to Liz & Chris, I took Andrew & Emily to the front & right sides.

It started raining on us so we decided to hide under the carousel overhang for a while. None of us had the $1.25 on us that was required to actually ride the carousel though.

Finally after a lot of begging, they took pity on us and let us in for a few pictures.
