I got to spend the past 2 days with a pretty amazing group of women. This was the 4th Modern Portrait workshop that my mother and I have hosted and the first time we’ve had a 100% female enrollment and boy did we have a great time with them. Not that it hasn’t been just as wonderful having guys around, it was just a different dynamic. :) It was held at the brand new studio in the Noho Arts District that I’m sharing with Ellen Petty and although we don’t even have any furniture in there yet, it felt great to have people in there enjoying the space and we ‘re looking forward to officially moving in this weekend. I’ll post some pictures as we go through the decoration process but for now, I wanted to continue to catch up on blogging all of the engagement sessions I’ve shot recently.

So today I bring you Kristan & Steve. Steve is the drummer for Gonzo’s Nose, in my opionion THE best party band in the DC area and my wedding band. I got to write what seemed like hundreds of emails to “Shak” during the planning of my own wedding so I was delighted to meet his fiancee Kristan and even happier when they decided to book me for their own wedding next month. Anyway, these two were engaged right outside the National Cathedral so we thought it would be a great location for their engagement session. Here area a handful of my faves…
