My good friend Lisa has just debuted her own line of eyewear which was announced on People.com yesterday. The glasses are available at classique-eyewear.com and are super stylish. They almost make me wish I needed glasses...which I probably do after spending so much time on the computer. Thank goodness for auto-focus lenses, right? :)
Lisa modeled one of her new designs for me at her wedding back in January.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to hang out a public apology if you just clicked through from my email auto-responder for an email you may have sent me months ago. I turned on my auto-responder and had one tiny little setting wrong and it responded to ALL of the emails in my inbox. Unfortunately for all of you, I save emails for a long time in case I need to refer back to them later. Today that's come back to bite me. Oops. So I apologize for the confusion. But I do wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season! :)
xoxo,
Justine

Today I bring you yet one more DC couple who I met on the actual day of their engagement session, Danielle & Ken. On their suggestion we decided to shoot at the farmer's market in Old Town Alexandria, VA. It was a cloudy, chilly morning but I had such a blast getting to know these two whose wedding is sure to be just as adorably charming as they are. Danielle's family owns grocery stores so their reception is going to be grocery market inspired, how cool is that? They are going to incorporate locally grown foods and have the decor of the space inspired by the way a market would be set up. I just can't wait to see what they pull off with the help of my great friend and wedding coordinator extraordinaire, Sara Muchnick. And now, a few images from our shoot.
Our own little ode to "American Gothic."

Jane & Mark are another couple that I never met until the day of their engagement session. But we managed to find one another at the Jefferson Memorial and ended up having such a fun time shooting their engagement session. Jane was somehow under the impression that she is unphotogenic but after getting her in front of my camera, I beg to differ and I'm sure anyone else reading this will agree with me. :) So excited for this wedding coming up in March at Dahlgren Chapel and the Reagan Building. I just know it's going to be as gorgeous as they are!

During my last trip to DC, I photographed the engagement sessions of 3 couples, none of whom I had met before the day I shot them. Now sometimes it's tough to get into a groove when you shake someone's hand for the first time, say "nice to meet you" and then ask them to be themselves and share some very intimate moments with you. It's a challenge but one that I always look forward to, even if it scares me just a little bit.
So when I met Cheri & Trop a couple of weeks ago in Cady's Alley in Georgetown for their engagement session, they walked up to me coffee in hand and I was immediately at ease. I thought, hey...I thought I'm the one who's supposed to be making them feel comfortable. So we spent the next hour or so bumming around near the Potomac and eventually had to
