Well, I just flew into DC last night to shoot a couple of weddings and a whole bunch of other stuff all starting with an engagement session with Stacy and Derrick at the Jefferson Memorial this evening. These two are just the most wonderful, fun and not to mention gorgeous couple who came to me through my dear friend Martin from Blue Sky Films. They were engaged at the Jefferson so it only seemed appropriate to do some pictures there. Here are a few highlights... Just had to add one more...

When I'm shooting a portrait session for a family, I try to imagine how I think they will want to display the images I'm creating. Some want large images for their walls. Others don't have the space for something huge but want to display them in a hallway or staircase which can be more challenging. One solution to this is the ever popular "mini-gallery" where a series of images (5x7 or 8x10) are presented together within one frame. I recently did a shoot with the Rodgers family and I think we came out with a few great options for mini-galleries. I threw a couple together so that you can all see what I'm talking about. Here is one of the girls together. Somehow these 3 images together seem so cohesive and stronger as a unit than they would be individually. The big sister/ little sister relationship really just jumps out at

So I know this is probably starting to seem like Oliver's blog instead of my blog but I just had to share this with everyone. Gary and I are just laying around on the couch on our laptops with VH1 Classic providing some background entertainment. Well a few minutes ago, the video for Mariah Carey's "Emotion" came on and Oliver actually started watching the tv during all of the really high notes. It was so funny that we even had to rewind it (thank you Tivo) to watch those parts again. And sure enough, Oliver perked right up every time and watched intently. So now we know, Oliver's favorite singer is Mariah Carey, especially early 90's Mariah.

Last night Gary and I went to see Hall and Oates just a few miles from our house at the Hollywood Bowl. We enjoyed an amazing dinner at the Roof-top Grill and then grabbed a bottle of wine and some cookies that we took to our seats to enjoy during the show. Here we are waiting for our table. The opening act was The Spinners, who were quite fabulous in their matching pink suits. And then Hall and Oates who were of course great. I think Gary looks strikingly similar to Daryl Hall who is still really cute. Apparently Gary's high school friends thought so too when they nicknamed him...what else...Daryl Hall.

65%How Addicted to Blogging Are You? After taking this online test, I've learned that I am 65% addicted to blogging. I don't think this is all that bad in comparison to Becker's 91% or Brian Khang's 71% addictions. I guess I do feel a little ridiculous when the whole purpose of doing something or going somewhere is so that I can blog about it later. I think this is a good time for all of you blog stalkers out there to come forward and share your own blog addictions with me. You know who you are...some of you have even outed yourselves via emails or pms so leave me a comment and let me know your personal percentage.
